When Darren Stone, a seemingly average schoolboy, is snatched from his bed in the middle of the night, his world is turned upside down. He has been taken to the Institution, a top secret medical facility that has been experimenting on people with extraordinary abilities. Darren does not know why he is there; he always thought he was average. Despite this confusion, one fact is clear. He must escape. Meanwhile, Darren’s older sister, Amber, is struggling to find herself. A university dropout, she spends most of her time trying to forget her past mistakes. One morning, she wakes up in a forest with no memory of how she got there. As she starts to piece together the mystery of the night before she realises that something supernatural has happened. The intertwined tales put into place the events that cumulate in the war to end all wars. Institution is the first novel in the new blockbuster YA series: The Third War Chronicles.

Miya Black, Pirate Princess II: Freedom & Responsibility
Ben White (Author)
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing… and although Miya Black wouldn’t call her current life ‘nothing’, it certainly isn’t anything close to an adventure. Half a year has passed since Badger Pete’s attack, and life has returned to normal on Clover Island – rather TOO normal, at least as far as a certain Pirate Princess is concerned. There are no terrible monsters to vanquish, no great and obvious wrongs to right, just everyday problems with everyday solutions and a lot of cleaning up. To put it bluntly Miya is bored, and being grounded doesn’t help at all. But dark clouds are gathering against the tiny kingdom, old enemies are stirring, and Miya may come to regret ever wishing for adventure… “Freedom & Responsibility” is the second volume in the Miya Black, Pirate Princess series.

Susanne Alleyn (Author), Lillie Vanderveer Albrecht (Author)

Even though the neighbors disapprove, Jo is happier doing boys’ jobs. When it comes to doing ordinary household tasks, though, she believes she’s hopeless. She’s not much good at cooking or knitting, and spinning thread is simply beyond her–a fact which her disapproving, fault-finding aunt and cousin never fail to point out. But when Indians attack their little village of Hatfield and carry off many captives, including Jo’s mother, Jo and her brothers must make their way alone to Westfield to find shelter with their grandfather. In Westfield, however, more bad news awaits them, and Jo will find her own resources and courage sorely tested.

The Big Apple Posse (The Big Apple Posse Trilogy)
Wendy R. Williams (Author), Sophie Escabasse (Illustrator)
TEENS SAVE THE CITY!! “The Big Apple Posse” is a page-turning action/adventure story for kids of all ages. Just in time for the tenth anniversary of 9/11, “The Big Apple Posse” tells the story of four amazing teens who were trapped in New York City after a terrorist attack. Pooling their skills (computer, physical and common sense), they figure out what happened to the city and escape. In the spirit of “The Wizard of Oz,” they become a band of travelers (The Big Apple Posse) adding new friends as they make their journey… Twelve-year-old Amanda was dreading a boring afternoon at a Broadway theater, babysitting her ten-year-old brother Peter and watching her obnoxious cousin Cindy perform the lead role in an Off-Broadway production of “Annie.” After the show, as they wait to be picked up in Cindy’s basement dressing room, something unimanageable happens—the theater, and perhaps the entire city, explodes above them! Armed with a laptop and backpacks, the terrified but determined tweens manage to escape through an old door in the men’s room and climb down a Prohibition-era stairway to the subway. When they emerge, they are stunned to find an empty city where the streets are choked with abandoned cars and plagued by looters running wild. With Amanda leading the pack, the group dodges thieves and thugs, making their way to Grand Central Station, where there has been an explosion of white powder. What really happened? Is it a terrorist attack? Determined to solve the mystery and reunite with their families, the teen posse quickly expands, adding some quirky characters they meet along their way: Mr. Garvain, a true New York eccentric; his sister Miss Virginia, proprietress of an extensive costume wardrobe; Thibodeaux, a twelve-year-old New Orleans boy turned New York City rapper and clothing designer; and Auntie Tina, Thibodeaux’s guardian. Amid the nonstop thrill-ride, the tweens come to trust each other and learn that nothing matters more than keeping their posse together and saving the city they love.

Fairy Tales from Ancient Times
Daniel Marques (Author)
This book gathers several fairy tales written by the author and in each there is the intention to give an importance life lesson, as the stories relate to events that usually happen in daily life, although referring to ancient times of villages, Kings and Princesses. In some of these stories there is also the reference to other entities, such as fairies or spirits of the forest, relating therefore to the Celtic Mythology. Nonetheless, all the stories presented are original in their content and way they are presented, and it’s the intention of the author that, more than the lessons presented, the beauty behind the scenes that can be imagined can be truly lived and appreciated.

Cuddly Bears Counting 1-20 and Number Recognition Flash Cards 123′s (Brushed by Hand) (Beary Fun Learning)
Bearlyn (Author)
This book includes 47 full-color pages of Cuddly Bears. This includes the numbers 1 thru 20 in order with balloons, and the numbers 1 thru 20 shuffled without balloons. The first 20 numbers have balloons for children to count. This way, children practice their counting and number recognition together, and will help them to understand what each number actually means. The first 20 numbers are for kids who are learning their numbers and who are learning to count. The second 20 numbers do not have balloons and are shuffled. The second set of 20 numbers is intended to quiz kids on their number recognition. The second set of 20 numbers is the more advanced level of this book. Kids who are just learning their numbers will not be able to recognize them in the second set until they have read the book enough times that they can remember them. The Cuddly Bears and balloons were hand-brushed with brush pens by artist Bearlyn. The numbers are also hand-drawn, which look more natural and are easier for children to reproduce than printed numbers. At the beginning of the book, a Cuddly Bear waves hello. Advancing from one picture to the next, watch her hand wave. Similarly, a Cuddly Bear will wave goodbye at the end of the book. Encouraging the child to say “hi” and “goodbye” and to wave to the Cuddly Bears may help them feel that the book is slightly interactive.
